Introduction & Research
By agreeing to engage us to research your project, you accept our agreement of service & payment terms. Further, you understand & acknowledge we are not guaranteeing results nor the outcome you hope for – we can only guarantee we will do our best to find & report the information as documented.
Please be aware some information uncovered can be distressing & ultimately life altering. Please be prepared. We will only ever distribute our findings to the person/people nominated as the contact for the project – should they wish to pass this information onto other parties, we will not be held accountable, responsible or liable.
Genealogy/family history is not an exact science. We will not issue refunds for research that’s been started nor for information that is incorrect, incomplete or not to your liking. We undertake research on your behalf based on facts/information you provide & the availability & accuracy of historic documents & information and as such, we will not accept responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions.
Payment & Deposits
We will supply you with an invoice prior to commencement of research. For research projects with a total initial value less than $600.00 AUD a 25% deposit is payable prior to commencement with the full balance at completion prior to the release of information/documents. For research projects with a total initial value greater than $600.00 AUD a 20% deposit is payable prior to commencement with a further 20% (of the total) due 6 weeks later & the full balance at completion prior to the release of information/documents.
Payments must be in Australian dollars & can be made via direct deposit/electronic transfer. The client is responsible for any & all international bank fees. We do not currently provide credit card facilities.
All research is subject to our terms & conditions of service. Enquiries/initial consultations are not considered commissions. Commissions are only secure/confirmed once we receive your completed/signed agreement together with your deposit as cleared funds.
All deposits are non-refundable, unless otherwise, specifically stated in writing. Any modification to the original commissioned details will only be accepted in writing (email or letter) prior to commencement of research.
Consultations & Tutorials
Our genealogy consultations/tutorials are for guidance and advice regarding research. These sessions can be electronic via email or Skype, Zoom or telephone. Billing is in 2 hour increments payable up front in full.
Timeframes
All projected timeframes are a guide only. Due to the time intensive nature of genealogy/family history research, we cannot possibly give a firm timeframe for completion. If you require completion of your research question within a certain time period, please contact us prior to commissioning a research project.
Privacy
We respect your privacy. We have developed and provided this Privacy Policy to inform you of our practices and policies regarding the collection, use, maintenance, and disclosure of your personal data and information so you can make an informed decision whether to visit our web site and whether you wish to voluntarily provide any personal data or information, e.g., your name, e-mail address, telephone number, etc.

All photos/images & artwork displayed throughout this site are the exclusive property of Family History Hub & may not be reproduced in any form or medium without prior, express written permission. All graphic & text content is protected by Australian copyright law.
Log Files
We review data and information contained in log files located on our web server, which record the date and time of each visit to our web site, the user’s IP (internet protocol) address, the referring IP address or domain (the prior web site visited), and the files viewed on our web site (including HTML pages, graphics, etc.). We use log file information to analyze data in the aggregate to determine the trends and usage of our site. We cannot correlate the log data to identify specific users.
Voluntary Information
We do not sell or make commercially available specific information about users. If you respond to a request for information or make any other on-line request of us (including email), you will be voluntarily providing personally identifiable information. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, we ask that you please do not provide the requested information. You may nevertheless continue to use most of our web site, subject however, to the collection of information through log files as discussed above. We do not share your information with anyone outside our organisation (except if we are required to do so by law).

All electronic information, including but not limited to emails, online enquiries, bookings & payments can also be made via telephone.
